Ona bowery camera bag youtube8/16/2023 I would also look at the Billingham Hadley Small which is the same if not a bit more expensive than the ONA I think. Crumpled is not a first choice for my taste. The locking mechanism is nice, but make the flap top heavy and hard to work out of. The problem is the bags are too soft and lacking the rigidity when you start loading the bag. I tested a few ONA bags and they will fit the Fuji X camera and lenses. Thanks - that Jack is pretty cool but it's much bigger than I'm looking for. It also wouldn't easily be confused with a purse since that is a concern. The Retrospective is perfectly sized, very practically designed, and (IMHO) attractive but not one to attract unwanted attention. I was put off by the Bowery because of the leather cinch and the fumbling that would be required to get into it in a hurry, should there be a need. I'll vouch for the TT Retrospective as a terrific choice. No bag is worth that!Īt least it won't look like this camera bag, the Jill-E Juliette Leather Camera Bag : My concern comes from the endless stream of comments I will get from my wife and wise-cracking friends if it does indeed look like a woman's purse when around one's shoulder. I know, I know, I shouldn't care what others think. Luckily for me, my birthday arrived not too long after my new camera did, and I’m now the proud (read: slightly obsessed) owner of an ONA Bowery bag, their small messenger-style bag named after the Bowery neighbourhood of Manhattan. I guess that you're not near NYC but if you ever plan to visit, you can compare them at B&H which has most of them on display. It's the smallest Retrospective but still has a slightly larger interior space than the ONA Bowery and it's about the same price, $6 more than the canvas ONA Bowery. I prefer Think Tank Photo's canvas Retrospective 5 which seems to be a better, more practical design for photographers and it includes a rain cover. Jill-E Designs are what you'd want to avoid, although they have one that's more like ONA-like, their Jack Messenger Camera bag. Handcrafted with full-grain Italian-tanned leather and detailed with antique brass accents, the Leather Bowery camera bag is both stylish and versatile. The ONA Bowery Bags are more stylish than purse-like. I really want the leather one, but I'm wondering if the canvas version might look a little less purselike than the leather. They have great reviews, and I love the look, but I'm hesitating because it's been said in a number of reviews it looks very purse-like in reality when worn over the shoulder. Hope this is helpful and let me know if you have any questions.I'm wanting the ONA Bowery Bag for a small walk around kit (XE1 and 2 lenses). You can often soften the scratch by rubbing the fabric with your fingers. The fabric is not really scratched, it's the wax that shows the mark. When these bags are new or re-waxed, they are prone to scratching but it hasn't been a big deal for me. Then you leave it resting for about 24 hours and the wax starts setting in the fabric. You just rub the wax on the bag and then use a hair dryer to soften it and then you spread it with your fingers so that every part of the bag is covered in wax. Re-waxing was easy with a bar of Otter Wax. I am comfortable using the bag when it is raining but not pouring as they are water resistant and not waterproof. I also ordered a set of two small dividers because the bag only comes with one divider. With use though, you start noticing the bags getting softer and probably loosing some of the wax. After months of indecision, I purchased a leather Ona Bowery bag to use as a day bag with my X-E1 and the two lenses I have. I haven't experienced the wax on the bag rubbing and leaving stains on my cloths. I recently relaxed the Bowery and it ended up looking almost like new except for the form of the bag which has been changed a bit by my body. I have had the Bowery for about a year and a half and the Brixton for about 6 months. The interior is sturdy and well-padded with closed-cell foam, offering plenty of protection for my camera and its additional lens, not to mention my usual bits and pieces, like my phone. Yes, the Bowery is a beautiful, cool-yet-casual leather satchel, but it’s also practical. I have the Ona Bowery and Brixton in canvas. No-one will have a Dark Truffle ONA Bowery bag quite like mine. I can only speak about the wax and not the leather bags. Hi, I know this is quite late and you probably already made your decision but I'll try to answer at least part of your questions for other people who might have the same concern.
